People during the Bronze Age

to map

1800 BC

Since the Bronze Age (1800-500 b.c) the Estonian citizenship can be talked about as the Finnish of the Baltic Sea. During the younger Bronze Age (110-500 b.c.) Scandinavia had a major impact on Estonia.

The citizens of the Estonian coastal areas communicated with South Scandinavia probably very often. The merchants originating from there also lived there with high probability.

A lot of Scandinavian-like, from the clothes and jewellery up to the barrow buildings and borrowed words were added to the material culture of the Estonian citizens. This situation still did not lead to the cultural and language exchange.
