So far, snow in Tallinn had been the deepest on March 18, 1968, when its depth was 59 cm. On January 3, 2010, snow was measured 62 cm deep, thus setting a new record.

The overall snow record of Estonia dates to 1924, when the snow in Pagari, Virumaa county, was 97 cm deep.
