Saaremaa gets involved in Kalmar War
For the last time, Denmark was successful against Sweden in the Kalmar War, where it managed to force Sweden to pay ransom for the fort in Älvsborg, in Southern Sweden. Situation was different in Saaremaa: the Swedish forces in Estonia were smaller that the weak garrison in Saaremaa, and Swedes managed to capture most of the island. But this was limited to plundering, as Swedes failed to capture the fort in Kuressaare. After the war ended, nothing changed in Saaremaa.
