1563

Russow came to Tallinn probably already at the end of 1562, but at first he had to deal with his heritage matters. Probably with the help of his friend, Bartholomäus Frölinck, he was able to become an ordinated pastor and get appointed to the position of the deacon at the Estonian congregation of the Church of the Holy Ghost, in spite of his unfinished studies. Russow remained tied to this congregation until his death. At the same time, the Church of the Holy Ghost was among the most noteworthy in Tallinn, as also the Town Council of Tallinn held its services there. This gave Russow means to establish strong ties with the members of the Town Council.
